Service proivders could finally get their act together…

Botnets the herds of zombie (compromised) computers that together cause distributed denial of service attacks, need to be curtailed, but service providers have always thought of this as not their problem. Well, that notion could be changing soon. Working together service providers could put a noose around the botnets and strangling their bandwidth. Read more on this article here.

Cisco IOS Updates… Procrastination might lead to DDoS

Cisco’s latest batch of 11 IOS updates that address various vulnerabilities in the world’s favorite Router OEM has Cisco itself worried, and rightly so. The vulnerabilities if exploited can do some serious harm vis-à-vis denial of service attacks.

Verisign introduces a DDoS Monitoring Only Solution.

Verisign on its Press Release page today announced that it was introducing a monitoring-only solution for DDoS attacks.  The service essentially allows enterprise customers and service providers to see what sort of traffic patterns are building up, especially with respect to malicious attack traffic.
